Event Description

You're invited to the Beyond Azara book and CD release party with Ashland-based author and musician, Martin Ball.

I've just released my latest novel, Beyond Azara - A Universal Love Story - a profound tale of personal awakening, transformation, and love that is psychedelic, sexy, and sublime. I'll be reading selections from the novel as well as discussing its central themes of nondualism and unitary consciousness, entheogenic experience, and sensuality.

In addition to the book, I'll be sharing music from my latest CD of electroacoustic world fusion music, APEXERAL.

Schedule is as follows:

7-7:30 - Music and dancing
7:30-8:30 - Reading and Discussion
8:30-9 - More music and dancing

Tuesday, July 31st at Oasis Healing Arts Sanctuary in Ashland.

About the author: Martin first came to Ashland in late 2007 at the beginning of what would prove to be a profound process of personal transformation and awakening that culminated in the Spring of 2009. Since then, he has been writing, lecturing, teaching, and sharing the fruits of his experience and the profound insights derived from the process. In many ways, Beyond Azara is a fictionalized account of what Martin experienced and what he learned and is his first novel since his Tales of Aurduin fantasy series, written in the early 2000s. In addition to his fiction, Martin is the author of numerous books on entheogens and consciousness, including the new ebook, All Is One: Understanding Entheogens and Nonduality, and Being Human: An Entheological Guide to God, Evolution, and the Fractal, Energetic Nature of Reality.

Not only is Martin a prolific writers, he is also a prolific musician and recording artist, as well. His instrumental music blends genres and styles into an electroacoustic mix with guitar, mandolin, Native American flutes, didjeridu, percussion, and electronic instrumentation and beats and sampled orchestral instruments.

Martin's music is available on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Martin-Ball-Psychedelic-Music

Beyond Azara - A Universal Love Story is now available in paperback and digital ebook at Amazon and other online retailers as well as locally at Love Revolution, Bloomsbury Books, and Sound Peace in Ashland. Copies will be available for purchase at this event at Oasis.

Project in Morocco combines hemp and solar to go totally off grid | Hemp Today

A team of organizations has completed construction of a ground-breaking eco-building in Morocco that combines hemp construction with a high-tech solar energy system for total independence from the electrical grid. The SUNIMPLANT project, designed as a single-family dwelling, was created as an entrant in the recent “Solar Decathlon” organized by the United States Department of Energy and Morocco’s Centre de recherche en Energie solaire et Energies nouvelles. The biannual international competition challenges teams of students to design and construct solar-powered buildings. The most recent edition was hosted in Ben Guerir, Morocco, the first time the competition has been held on the African continent.

Arundhati Roy: Our Task is to Disable the Engine | Progressive International

While the human race is momentarily incarcerated, and even as a record-size hole opens in the ozone layer above the Arctic, the earth has given us an indication of her ability to heal. Even in our moments of sickness and loss we cannot help but hold our collective breath in wonder at the show she has put on. But plans are afoot to put an end to all of that. In India, for example, just in these last few days, a large portion of a tiger reserve is about to be turned over to a religious gathering—the Kumbh Mela—which attracts tens of millions of Hindu pilgrims. An elephant reserve in Assam is being marked off for coal mining, and thousands of acres of pristine Himalayan forest in Arunachal Pradesh marked off for submergence by the reservoir of a new hydroelectric dam. Meanwhile, not to be outdone, President Trump has signed an executive order allowing mining on the moon.

What Dam Removals Can Do for a River | Outside Online

Rising from the Ashes, from Trout Unlimited, follows the scientists studying the summer steelhead resurgence in Washington’s Elwha River. Since the removal of the Elwha Dam in 2011 and the Glines Canyon Dam in 2014, these fish are now free to run from the Pacific Ocean up into the Olympic Peninsula.

This New Electric Jet Concept Uses Air Friction to Generate Power | Robb Report

While the most current trend in business aviation is all about creating the next generation of electric and hybrid-powered aircraft, a new kind of space race could emerge if the physics actually support the theory behind Eather One. Designer Michal Bonikowski’s concept is probably four or five generations ahead of the current mode of thinking, but Bonikowski told Robb Report that he was inspired by the recent Maveric concept by Airbus. “That aircraft’s unique design helps reduce drag while providing more cabin space,” he said. “I have been thinking a lot about this lately, and wondered what could happen if a big company would like to create an electric plane.”
