How do the comments of a 19th century Frenchman about American democracy influence public debate and democratic decision-making today? In a Community Forum titled "Is Democracy Achievable? Lessons from Alexis de Tocqueville," Dr. Prakash Chenjeri, a associate professor of philosophy at Southern Oregon University, will explore the answer to that question in an enlightening conversation with the audience. The program will take place Monday, April 19 from 10:00 am to noon in the Presentation Hall of the RCC-SOU Higher Education Center at 101 S. Bartlett Street in Medford. It is part of a free monthly Community Forum series sponsored by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at SOU. Refreshments provided starting at 9:30 am. No registration is necessary. Details are available at www.sou.edu/olli or by calling 541-552-6048.
