ASHLAND SOURCE CENTER

Your source for the emerging culture!

DEAR FRIENDS,

The Ashland Source Center has personally invited you and other key people, organizations, businesses and media in the Southern Oregon and Mt Shasta community to become members at no cost except 15 minutes of your time to set-up your profile and "My Portal" website.

This is a powerful communications and networking toolkit, an online forum and social media portal for you exchange ideas, share media and build projects together.

Because we're local we enjoy face-to-face community gatherings periodically in addition to our on-line network. The purpose of this and all our other "Source Centers" is  to create a comprehensive "Source Directory" for the emerging culture in the areas of business, green entrepreneurship, sustainable living, health and wellness, and spiritual and metaphysical.

Additionally we operate a small news/media organization that emphasizes sustainability and community values featuring user-generated content (e.g., blogs, videos, photos, music, events) selected from the Internet.

This giant leap forward is nothing less than a miraculous resynchronization of our own conscious evolution for the future!
~ John David Van Hove, Founder

2 ~ What brought you to Ashland & Southern Oregon area? Let us know what’s been inspiring you these days!
Initially we established the Ashland Source Center as a local project and business development office with staff across from the Historic Armory in 1998 as part of ICR's emerging global and regional network with 12 offices in three countries.

After downsizing and changing our business model the Ashland Resource Center is reemerging as the first of many new local resource centers being organized worldwide.

After leaving Maui in 2001 I moved to Ashland and lived on both Mountain and Beach streets for four years before taking a two-year hiatus from life as I'd known it. That's a whole other story.

Now, I'm back in the cradle of southern Oregon building new paradigm companies and this social media network for our community.
3 ~ What would you love to offer to and share with our community? What do you envision could be a few of the most beneficial things that could happen from actively using this site? Feel free to be outrageous!
The Ashland Source Center relies upon your donations, event promotionsadvertising, sponsorships and our partnership program to provide this "free" community service! • Community Partner ($12/month) • Business Partner ($24/month) • Associate Partner ($48/month) We also offer both private sessions and group classes for learning to design your "MyPage" and get th most out of your social media networking experience.
4 ~ Please describe any projects or businesses you'd like to develop, if any? What is your "JOB" (aka "Joy of Being")? What especially delights you?
Our mission is to create 144 regional resource centers and thousands of local resource centers worldwide. So if you're not from southern Oregon and have an interest in becoming an ORGANIZER please contact us at: [email protected]

Can someone fix it and, additionally, send me info on how I can receive your event emails without leaving my profile on your site?
Thanks much,

Johnny and Linda,

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and information! My daughter and I can't wait to come out to see Ashland on her break, so that we can look for a place to live. I am thinking about renting a pet friendly apt initially, until we have a chance to get to know the area better. Any suggestions?? Looking forward to being a part of the community!

Thank you, my Bro, for your lovely message! Wow, so much change on this end. On the verge of something this morning. Can feel it! Will be going into a Reading-Entrainment with a girlfriend in the UK in an hour -- and I just know something is up! Some change afoot re my business/contribution/internet set-up structure.

You are all (you, Linda and Savana) on my mind a lot.

Have a lovely afternoon!

Blessings, Grace and Deepest Love to all, my Heart Family xoxox

Lovely to be here! Loved spending time with you and Linda at your place last weekend. Has been a big week, since being back. A flood of clients, plus reconnecting with loved ones and all the usual admin stuff. I hold close to my Heart the platform established in Ashland, and the reconnections across time and space made. I feel most blessed -- and excited, too, about our co-creations for 2010.

Had fun last night registering with flock.com, delicious, etc. Trying to work out how to line up those RSS feeds, as you showed Savana and I that day! Touch and go at this stage, but definitely a part of the movement forward and connecting up the grid.

Please let Linda know that I will be in touch with her soon to schedule her Reading.

Love you two lots, and looking forward to mapping out 2010!

Blessings! Grace! Joy! Fatimaxxx

P.S. the short intro video on the Homepage is terrific!

John,
I can't thank you enough for the informational (and fun) class that you provided to me and other members of the ARC. I learned so much and it was very helpful in creating our Mini-web page for Omega House. I look forward to working with you in the near future to take full advantage of this wonderful local networking system.

Hi Linda I have several decent pix on Facebook. I cannot afford nor do I need professional pics at this time. I am just trying to keep my house in good shape, eat and maybe have a few bucks for some fun. Thanks and best of luck to you.

Scientists baffled at disappearance of influenza... but is it really gone, or just masked by Covid-19? | RT Op-ed

There has been a 98% plummet in flu infections this year, dispelling fears of a Covid and flu ‘twin-demic’ about which many had warned. Experts say we can thank masks and social distancing. But does this really add up? Although there is no mass testing for flu as there is for Covid, the WHO says that surveillance of data from around the world shows flu rates collapsing everywhere. Australia essentially ‘skipped’ their flu season this year, with not a single case reported since July (their peak). In fact, flu has more or less vanished throughout the Southern Hemisphere, and early indicators suggest it will follow suit north of the equator. What can explain this unprecedented decline?

Nursing home workers forced to make tough decisions as COVID-19 spread | Business Insider

Nursing homes have been especially hard-hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and workers in those facilities have been forced to make some difficult decisions on a professional and personal level. While nursing homes only make up 1% of the US population, according to the Associated Press, they account for a significantly larger percentage of COVID-19 infections compared to the overall population.  As of this writing, there are 8.3 million people infected with the coronavirus in the US, and over 222,000 have died.

Why can’t we talk about the Great Barrington Declaration? | The Spectator

You probably haven’t heard of the Great Barrington Declaration. This is a petition started by three scientists on 4 October calling for governments to adopt a policy of ‘focused protection’ when it comes to Covid-19. They believe those most at risk should be offered protection — although it shouldn’t be mandatory — and those not at risk, which is pretty much everyone under 65 without an underlying health condition, should be encouraged to return to normal. In this way, the majority will get infected and then recover, gradually building up herd immunity, and that in turn will mean the elderly and the vulnerable no longer have to hide themselves away. According to these experts, this is the tried and tested way of managing the risk posed by a new infectious disease, dating back thousands of years.

When the Michigan Supreme Court struck down that state’s Emergency Powers of the Governor Act as unconstitutional, it adopted the very arguments we are making in our case against Gov. Newsom.
