Who is searching? | Commentary

By Krishna

If "IT" is outside, then our search will bring fruits sometime in this very life or at least in zillion lives for sure, but if it is hidden in the searcher itself, as his/her Subjectivity, how can one find it, outside of oneself / no-self! When our direction is absolutely wrong, how fast or with how much enthusiasm we run brings the opposite result and it is a point of no return and never takes us to the desired destination /… Continue

Autumn Cleansing | Healthy Transformation Newsletter

By Linda Cotrufello

Happy Autumn!

In this newsletter I would like to talk about "Autumn Cleansing." Many of us take time to clean our homes, cars, windows and such in the autumn before winter sets in, but forget about our bodies. While it is best to have a daily detox program, at this time of year it is important to spend some extra energy on our liver and colon.

Symptoms such as allergies,…

Itself | Poetry

White fish swimming

In shallow coated ponds

Appreciate air and water

Functions of life itself

Seeking wisdom

We approach the gates

Differentiating truth itself

In integral proportion

Another fall day passes

Change enters beside itself

Patterns form to elucidate

Many questions configured

The Local Jobs Agenda

By Jeff Golden

Some say there are three big issues this election year, in national state and local elections alike: 1) Jobs 2) Jobs and 3) Jobs.

How can county government help that happen? A couple of months ago we started a research project to find out. The result is our Local Jobs Agenda, which we think is unlike any report ever offered before in a… Continue

Ninth Year Anniversary: Remembrance of 9/11 | Political Reporting

Ground Zero Memorial

By John David Van Hove

Nine years ago this day I was at Stewart Hot Springs enjoying a one-day retreat and massage. I heard musings about the attack on the World Trade Center there, but didn't take any of it seriously until the next day when I returned to my offices at the Ashland Resource Center on Oak Street across from the Historic Ashland Armory and saw the news coverage for the first… Continue

Birth Into Being

By Ginny St. John

A self-described "curious, shape-shifting, little explorer moving through the vastness of our Universe," Elena Tonetti is an extraordinary gift to the rest of us on this planet! Her mission: to transform the world through new birthing practices and, for those of us many years PAST being birthed, personal transformation through a special "recoding" process she presents in her teachings entitled, "Birth into… Continue

Anthropocene

The Anthropocene defines Earth's most recent geologic time period as being human-influenced, or anthropogenic, based on overwhelming global evidence that atmospheric, geologic, hydrologic, biospheric and other earth system processes are now altered by humans. The word combines the root "anthropo", meaning "human" with the root "-cene", the standard suffix for "epoch" in geologic time. The Anthropocene is distinguished as a new period either after or within the Holocene, the current epoch, which began approximately 10,000 years ago (about 8000 BC) with the end of the last glacial period.

Solar Power To Become 4th Largest Electric Power Capacity In The World (Passing Up Wind) | CleanTechnica

Frost & Sullivan’s recent analysis Global Power Industry Outlook, 2018, which posits that solar will surpass wind in global energy capacity starting in 2020, making it the fourth largest source of energy generation behind coal, gas and hydro. Less than a year ago, solar surpassed nuclear energy to reach 5th place.

California is throttling back record levels of solar—and that’s bad news for climate goals | MIT Technology Review

Californians are enjoying a sunny spring, which means the state’s solar farms and rooftop panels are flooding the grid with electricity. The problem is, they’re producing so much that plummeting prices and mandates by the state’s grid operator are forcing renewable power plants to throttle back production. In April, California solar and wind farms shut down or dialed back nearly 95,000 megawatt-hours of electricity, a new record, according to the California Independent System Operator, which manages the vast majority of the state’s electricity. That’s enough to power more than 30 million homes for an hour.
